    how come whe the hald multplies by the one it stays as one ?

    I think it's cos the half multplies by the cos square x to form 2 cos square x but i'm not sure

    Just a little verfication if from people who can do trigonometry very well, no I think or im just guessings , not to be rude just that posts like that are never helpful ... thanks :D

    They multiplyed across by 2 to keep everything as whole number.

    notice where it becomes 2cos^2x instead of cos^2x as it was previously

    1/2(1 - cosx) means that the whole thing is multiplied by 1/2. If you multiplied this by 2, they would cancel and you'd be left with 1(1 - cosx). 1 multiplied by anything is quite an obvious answer.
