I have a map of where it starts. They gave them out last week. Not sure of the actual route though.

yea I know the start, I did alot of winter spins to tara on that long POXY road !! by the looks of the wind, it looks like it might be not a FULL headwind on the way out ......
Did you get some Clip-on TT bars Raam ?

Not yet. There should be an extra handicap for anyone with clip-on bars or a TT machine!

    A DNF Tony, what happened?
I got a puncture on the way home, and then when I changed it at home, I got another cos I pinched the damn tube putting it back in. Was already running late so threw a strop and went for a run instead. Not a happy camper.

    a bleedin puncture at approximately 5 mile mark !! I had 11min 17s on the clock !!! D'Oh !!!!
I had pulled out to the middle of the road to pass some bodies and turned my head to check traffic behind, turned round bunch of stones ...too late to miss them ... front wheel right onto one ..... game over !

That's a bummer. Where you on target for the win?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 485 ✭✭biker_joe

Bummer you did n't get out, Noel was asking for you, there were only 8 starters.... we going to need more bodies to keep it alive !

and sure I'll never know if I would have got the fastest time !!! Pity was feeling good, well as good as you can feel during the PAIN of a TT !!!

I'll be going to the rest of them. Although one clashes with a Swords race I think... Kathleen O'Sullivan maybe. Really annoyed that I missed it. A bike wheel was close to going through the kitchen window at one point.

Such a lovely evening for it also.

Next week is a 25 miler! Any tips on how to approach that one?

Seems to be the week for it. Blorg apparently got three punctures in our league race last night!

yea I understand the frustration, I was totally pissed getting that puncture, but kinda glad that I did n't come off trying to come to a halt on the TT bike ....
    scary feeling .....

as for 25 Mile TT they are tough, and best to not start too fast.... and then burn out or worse still blow up !!

    see here !!!

Hmmm. Are you commuting on your race bike, or racing on your commuting bike?

The Cervelo was in pieces on the floor, being cleaned, so couldn't use that, so was commuting on the hack bike, which I was gonna race on. Fixie is out of commision at the moment.

what about swapping wheels between bikes ? Save you time changing tubes ? or have you got in compatible blocks ?

One is 10 speed, the other is 9 speed. Never thought to change the cassette. Ah hindsight...
