Ive got about 50 quid in my betfair account (started with 7 euro) and I want to withdraw it but I'm having difficulty. I originally put the 7 euro into the account via paypal. Is the only way to withdraw my winnings via paypal also ? I was hoping to put it on my laser/visa card.

Register a visa or laser card on your account. If you have not done this? You then should be able to withdraw.

It wont allow me - its saying I need to make a deposit with that card before I can withdraw to it. Seems like they mark is as hard as possible to actually get your money.

They never mentioned anything like that when I was signing up and depositing money...

But if say they want you to deposit with a card, it needs to be registered? If you can deposit money, deposit the lowest possible amount and then withdraw.
It might be worth your while contacting them through their helpdesk.

But then Id have to lodge 7 euro just to take out 50. Im going away for a year so have no need for a betfair account.

[edit] - actually, would I be able to withdraw the amount that I had just deposited ? i.e 7 euro

Find an even money horse in a race. Back it in the bookies and lay it on the Exchange. If it wins you have your money if it looses you just find another even money shot and repeat the process until you get the even money shot beaten.
    Simple!!

I would like to think that you can withdraw all available money once you deposit it, as it is yours.

Deposit €15 (the min. deposit) and then straight away withdraw everything from your account - maybe that would work? Failing that throw them an e-mail.

Just rang them there. Tis fecking annoying.

Basically - because I made my deposit via paypal, I have to withdraw via paypal. Which is basically of no use to me. (unless theres a way to get funds from paypal to your bank account?)

I asked about depositing 15 euro and withdrawing everything, but he said that the max I would be able to withdraw would then be 15 euro.

Seems like a bit of a scam to me - or maybe Im just being really stupid.

You can hook up paypal account up to your bank account. Takes a couple of days though I think cos they make a small charge and then you have to get the code beside the transaction on your statement and enter it on the paypal website :pac: Bit of an effort alright. I had to do the same couple years ago.

Why would this sound like a scam? Its the procedures that Betfair have in place to prevent fraud. e.g. Someone stealing your PayPal account details/Credit Card etc. Then adding thier own card and withdrawing the funds.
Just withdraw via cheque or bank transfer.

    €7 !
try getting a few grand out !
i had a good run and withdrew some profits - never appeared on card
betfair say the info they gave me is correct - not their fault
bank says betfair info is incorrect - not their fault
i'm out of pocket, or rather, my money is in some other father ted type scenario where i'm not the one benefitting !!!
    bloody annoying !
