Help choosing laptop

Hi folks,

After alot of hassle with Dell over a laptop they have agreed to refund my money.
So Im in the market for a new laptop and was wondering if people would recommend an Acer or Toshiba?

My budget is 500 - 600 Euro. Screen size either 15 or 17in.
Hard drive size doesnt really matter as I have an external HDD. Would use it for internet, music, watching movies. No gaming.

Anyone recommend me something?

I've used both Toshiba and Acer recently and generally found them to be excellent. If anything, I would say the Acers look slightly nicer but the Toshibas tend to have slightly better warranties.

Ill take a wander into DID and see what they have there and get a better idea of what Id get for my money.
Ive used Toshiba before and found them excellent but a colleague here swears by Acer.

Have a look on www.dabs.ie too. They tend to have better prices.

That's an excellent deal alright. I wonder where DID are sourcing them from as Acer UK who normally would supply Ireland don't seem to have this model.

Looks great though, and the price isn't bad either.

looks to me like the only video output is the db15 laptop to pc monitor connector.

you could get one of these which would get you round that problem though ,

could someone confirm if there would also be an audio cable needed or does the cable above also transfer audio ?????

We have two Toshibas here and they haven't missed a beat in the 3 years I've had mine and the 1 year that our 5 year old has his. We use them as desktops.
