Well what would you know, Apple decided to let us in on the party this year. And at the same time as the US.

    www.applestore.ie
Buy a qualifying Mac and a qualifying iPod before September 8, 2009, and get a rebate of up to €185.

    iPod Touch (all models) €185
    iPod Classic 120GB €185
    iPod Nano 16GB €165
    iPod Nano 8GB €125
    iPod Shuffle 4GB €65

Your claim must be made before October 8 and you must buy via the Apple education store.

Apple have also quietly bumped the specs of the white Macbook:
    - Processsor speed bumped from 2.0 GHz to 2.13 GHz.
    - RAM speed bumped from 667 MHz to 800 MHz.
    - Hard drive capacity increased from 120 GB to 160 GB. Build-to-order options up to 500 GB are now available, up from a previous maximum of 320 GB.

This indicates an aluminum Macbook speed bump is definitely on the cards - maybe as early as next Tuesday. So anyone planning to get an alu Macbook should hold off until after WWDC.

These back to school offers are always brilliant, buy a white Macbook & 8GB Touch, costing €1,111, you get €185 rebate and can sell the Touch if you want for around €200, meaning you're paying around €725 for a laptop listed at €949!

Just wish they let me use this when I bought my MBP in NYC!!!!

This really is a good deal. Every year i say the same to all my friends and anyone that goes for a mac is always happy! The way i look at it (being sorted ipod wise) is upgrade your machine, and sell the ipod and help pay for the cost of the extra customisation.

A really good deal! You know you want to people...

Btw, Apple are also doing a 80 euro rebate on printers if you buy a Mac. So you can get a HP C4480 for only 10 euro.
