The usual - am a regular poster but going unreg for this.

Its only a minor problem but it has been keeping me awake at night

I discovered 2 weeks ago that I am almost identical in looks to my boyfriends ex girlfriend and I havn't been able to get it out of my head.

We have been going out about 8 months and things have been going well and I do like him.

Do you think he just has a 'type' or is he just not over his ex? Its really freaking me out and am at the stage where I'm considering breaking up over it.

    Am I overreacting?

    Thanks

    Hi OP
I wouldn't let it bother you,I reckon he just has a type he likes.
My cousin was married to a girl for about 2 years when they got a divorce a few years ago and last year we met his new fiance and she was the spitting image of the first girl,I mean same height, weight, hair even manner!!! Everyone notced it but apparently he hadn't,he said she was just his type as was the first girl!!
Seriously don't let it get to you and don't let it cause problems when there's no need

It could just be that he thought his ex was a stunningly gorgeous woman but it didn't work out, lo and behold you are a stunningly gorgeous woman too but a much cooler person.

    Perhaps, just perhaps.

    Hi OP
    I know what you mean.
I went out with a fella years ago and his girlfriend before me was the same age, height, had same tastes etc as me. And the girlfriend he had after me was like my little sister! So much so that people told me they thought we were sisters or that it was me!
I put it down to his particular taste or that personalities suited.
If you and your boyfriend are getting on I would try not to worry.

Sometimes you just get coincidence. I remember I was seeing this girl who looked quite like an ex thinking "oh god I hope we never run into her, she'll think I'm trying to replace her!"

A long time ago (more than 15 years ago) I dated someone who looks like my husband (he knows this), if nothing else it shows that I have a type but more importantly I feel that my ex was a pale imitation of what my husband is, it is if I was looking for my husband and could not find him at the time and dated my ex...I hope that this makes sense and helps you a bit.

Just because you look like her does not mean he is not over his ex - people can and do have general types.

I wouldn't be worried about it...

Sure all young ones are starting to look the same anyway!

    Short hair (like rihanna)
    Fake tan
    Lots o make-up

    ....i don't know why tbh
