    Hi all,

Came across a statement in the An Post Prizebond FAQ on it's website.

    Q. What are the chances to win a prize if you have for example €1,000 invested?

    A. A customer with €1,000 invested has a 3.8 to 1 chance of winning a cash prize in a 12 month period.

Simply wondering is this a correct statement? I ask that here because it involves odds. I also asked the same question in the Mathematics forum.

I have €100 in Prize bonds and one twice in the past couple of years
    (prizes were €50 and €75)
My son has €20 in prize bonds that he got as a present and has also won twice(€50 and €75) so i guess the odds are pretty got with a €1000 bond.

bought 10k in prizebonds after cheltenham (thanks dunguib) and have won 150euro already, at this rate it will work out better than bank interest and there is a chance of winning a big prize eg. 20k. 1m etc...

better than putting it in the bank anyway
