Facebook... driving me mad

Hi

I have been having problems logging onto facebook for a few weeks now and it is driving me insane.

Everytime I press facebook on my bookmarks menu it takes ages to come onto the login page then whenI try to log in I keep getting
Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "" The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.
Sometime if I press the back key it will go to my page sometimes not

I have alot of family outside Ireland and I am always incontact with them on facebook so this is driving me nuts that I can not login
Please please please HELP

Every other website works?

Are you in work/college (or otherwise sitting behind a proxy) that could be blocking facebook entirely? If so, try accessing via http://www.hidemyass.com or similar.

hi edel,

have you also tried a different web browser like mozilla firefox to see will that work properly , and if you are using internet explorer make sure it has been updated to the latest version , also make sure your anti virus is up to date and run a full system scan to rule out any nasties , there are also some spyware programs that you can download and install+update and run to eliminate the possibility of that being an issue , here are a few off the top of my head , no harm to run them all one by one .

Is it just Facebook that you have trouble with?

You say that you use the link to it from your bookmarks. Have you tried typing www.facebook.com into your address bar just in case there is something wrong with the bookmark? Worth a try if you haven't done it already.

Also: try rightclicking the bookmark, hit properties, and change the url to www.facebook.com

that should fix the bookmark too
