I have a sattelite dish from sky. I live on a mountain and it is positioned so the signal comes through a tree ( only place we can get it ) the leaves on the tree are disrupting the signal because of rain and I can't watch the apprentice which starts in 30 mins has anyone any ideas I've tried moving the dish but then I lose all signal I don't have the means to cut down the tree any ideas?????????

what about lopping off a few branches?

Despite having an acre of land, as luck would have it, the southern portion of my land is bordered by mature 30ft trees. However, one chainsaw and 15 minutes later and I had a nice clear hole 10 feet wide (so no branches could blow across the area and interupt the signal in high winds) where my dish could see the satellite. I'll have to prune once a year or so to keep the gap clear but that'll only take a few minutes. There's no need to take down the whole tree.

The dish doesn't have to be attached to your house btw. You could position it away from the house and the tree thats blocking the line of sight, and just run a new cable across the garden to the house.

What about a bigger/better dish ? If you're using the basic Sky dish - you might get a more reliable picture if you stepped up to an 80cm standard dish - or dare I say it a 1m dish - obviously depends on your dish location etc..
