Preamp Recs?

    Allo there,

I'm looking for a 2-channel mic preamp around the 5-700 mark. Currently looking at broadhurst gardens stuff and a couple of TLAudio units too. Can anybody here recommend anything based on experience.

It'll be going into the line ins on a Saffire Pro 26 i/o (or the adat port if that's an option). The mics that'll be used on it will be an m-audio sputnik (incredible, but that's another thread), a pair of SE3s and sometimes a 57.

    Thanks in advance.

    c

I would look at the Audient Mico it allows you to add harmonic colour on one of the Pres & adjust the phase relationship of the second. It also has digital outs with pretty good conversion by all accounts.

SOS gave it a glowing write up in the last issue. They have recently upgraded it so that all the gain is not bunched up at the far end.

Thanks JJ. I was actually just looking at the post on SOS about that and the ISAOne. It does look sweet alright. And pretty much in the ballpark price I'm after.

Not too shabby looking either. :)

Give me a buzz if you want to try one - sounds way better than it's price might suggest.

It also has a couple of cool features , the HMX is a 'thickener' type distortion and the vari phase is very good if you're trying to match phase , say with a di and mic on a bass amp

Thanks a million Paul. I reckon I'll be 100% taking you up on that offer in the next while. Really appreciate it.
