    hi guys,
heres the thing, recently (3 weeks)got back in touch with a boyfriend from my teenage years.i have always felt he was the love of my life.we have been texting and talking over the phone on a daily basis.he often texts asking for a chat in the small hours , and we talk for hours about nothing in particular, having a laugh and sharing our thoughts. we both get on well and hope to meet up at some stage.neither of us have brought the subject up of what is actually going on here,or maybe nothing is???i'd hate to loose contact again by scaring him off , i feel that he is interested, i know i am.neither of us are in a relationship but we do live very far away from each other.
i feel this could go further , but am worried that i'm being too romantic in my view here.
    what do you all think?

go for it, if you don't you will regret it to see what might have been. if it works it works and if it doesn't it doesn't.
lots of people miss out on the chance of being happy in life and always wonder what might have been.
give yourself the chance to be happy!!

    Go for it!

was in a similar situation myself not so long ago. He was always my 'what if', we got on great but he had stuff going on in his life and didn't have time for a relationship, but at least I gave it a go

Are you fairly confident he is not living with someone or married...

Just take it one text at a time and see how it pans out...

thanks everyone, have been talking to him even more since my post.texts etc "hows your day" , that kind of stuff.i really feel now that i need to ask the question, and if its meant to happen then it will.suppose i'm afraid that i risk loosing all contact again, and that would be nearly worse .

Whether you ask him or not his answer will be the same. What i mean is if he wants to be with you he will be, regardless if you ask him or not. Asking him only speeds up the process of knowing.

If he doesnt want to be with you, then asking him wont change that and you will just know sooner rather than later, when you have potentially invested more emotions etc

When did you last see him?

Be careful not to idealize people or situations. You guys may have changed a lot since you last saw each other (physically, mentally etc..).

How far does he live from you? In case it worked out, would you like to have a long-distance relationship?

Having said this..nothing ventured nothing gained ;)

last saw each other about 10 years ago , but have seen photos etc , so know what he looks like at least. on the phone , its like we never lost contact.he lives a good bit away ,and both of us have committments in our respective towns for the next few years at least.both of us are separated , and i know i do'nt want a full on 24 hr relationship at the moment.from his comments i think he'd does'nt either at present , so the long distance thing would suit for now.i think the post about me knowing one way or another was useful, thank you.i suppose he would'nt be in constant contact if he thought i was some nightmare from his past.
