Disappointed with the Others?

    Is anyone else disappointed with the characters of the Others, in particular Ben? They always acted so high and mighty as if they knew everything but they don't seem to understand the Island any better than we do or the Losties. I guess this is a throwback to the early days when we thought of the Others as mysterious, supernatural, animals and I know those days are long gone, and I've enjoyed the development of the Others - esp season 3. However, in light of the finale and all the talk of Smokey/Esau, how important do you think the Others are? Richard is the only one I'm interested in at this stage.

    We still don't really know what their agenda is, do we? Why did they pretend to be primative people? Why 'Jacobs list'? Why kidnap the children?

    Yeah I am with you on this one. I liked it when the Others were characters, like the one MC Gainey played. Now all we have are Richard and Ben and a bunch of extras who look as Lost as the 815 extras. they don't have the look of people who were in the know and ready for combat/defence. I hope all these questions you mentioned get answered too otherwise it will be annoying, even if everything else ties up nicely.
