    What boards has given me?
I joined boards in 2006 and never really posted that much until last year. Since then I have tried to contribute the best I can and I believe I have tried to compliment what is happening on boards with Irish poker rankings.

It was boards that gave me the idea along with an event that happened late last year when I noticed there was two big games on in the same area on the same day. There were already threads going up on boards with TD’s almost reserving dates for their events. I guess my first inception of IPR was to host this list. This would allow players to plan ahead with the events they wanted to attend well in advance.

To add an extra value to the list of events I came up with the idea of Irish Poker Rankings. Where you could only have one event in an area having ranking status therefore you would add value to that event. Hopefully this would stop organisers going against each other and therefore offering us the players, more events with more players in them, rather than splitting the fields.

Along with IPR, boards has given me a great insight into what is happening in Irelands poker scene. The best players, the worst players, and the wannabees. It has opened my eyes to insist I look for value in a tournament rather than just settling for the Local CPT tournament as they pass through.

I have now played in many clubs that I probably would never dream of or heard of before. From Galway’s Eglington casino(my spiritual home club) to the Fitzwilliam in Dublin. And everywhere in between, up and down. You get to see the bad, the good and the down right dodgy. Boards poker forum open my eyes to a whole new world of poker in Ireland that the other big sites just don’t give you.

Where I see the future for Irish poker.
I see consolidation with the tours and more cooperation between them. Without it poker in Ireland may become saturated. I think the organisers offering good value and a big crowd surviving through. The bad ones will find it increasingly tough.
I see a revolution in ................ I tell you about that in July.

    What next?
I not going to share that as I mention a particular project I was working on in my blog in January. Low and behold Boyles are now doing it every week. Although, In these media rich times, I do see a marketplace for an alternative.

My favourite post: Staking 17 stakees required for the Sunday €100K as it was then. A crazy thread and some crazy play.

My stupid post: Should I fold KK preflop with 20 BB’s with 20 players left.....or some dribble like that.

Good luck and may you run better than my arse after an Indian. :D
