Anyone give me any idea which is the better buy. Im thinkn of the caddy but hear the berlingos are fairly good. Its not for work just for commuting. Cheaper tax and running costs etc.

Depends on the price really but if they are close I'd go for the berlingo if only for the warranty left. Any examples ...links....pics. Mileage / condition would make a big difference on the choice

Citroen are very comfy vans too. Drive both and see.

Make sure the Berlingos a HDI if your getting one.

I've had one with my last job, drove all over connaught in it, never caused any issues. They can be hard on bushings the 04 - 05 models anyway. The brakes were excellent on it just tip them and you'd stop. Also the straight 1.9 wouldn't pull the socks off a dead man.. You'd need a prayer to overtake!

The Caddy isn't the be all and end all of small vans, sure they're nice, but don't compromise on mileage or years just to get one.

Yep - HDi is the only one to get. Is the Berlingo you have in mind a new model or is it the older model? There was a model change mid year in 2008.

I have a friend who wouldn't touch most French cars with a bargepole but he raves about the Berlingo. Claims it has the best thing about Frenchies (comfort, diesel engines) without the complex and sometimes over-ambitious electronic gimmicks they put in their cars. He actually did a sideline in importing and selling them on and was confident he wouldn't have guys coming back hassling him with problems.

I know 3 sparkies with them as well with no issues.

Both are reported as reliable, economical etc. Anecdotally, the Berlingo shades it in the comfort/handling argument.

    Avoid the Ford, dodgy wiring.

I know sod all regarding residuals so can't comment on that.
