    Folks,

Few changes...first off, the new charter. It's stickied at the top of the forum.
    Please read it.

The Commercial Interaction sub-forum gives users a chance to start threads to flog their own gear, or post wanted threads for gear or services.

It also provides a place for the pro's on here to openly talk about new products/services they have available, or are thinking about providing.

The Introduce Yourself thread has been split out from the charter, and I'm just about to set up the Off-Topic thread. The meta-thread for useful techniques/tips will be put together in the coming days.

The CISF is a great idea for those with a commercial bent, of which there are quite a few here now if one includes Studio Owners and Recording Schools.

It also gives clarity to what was a grey area.

    Well done all around.

That was the thinking behind it Paul. Keeps everything clearly compartmentalised.
If, for example, you have a new product that you openly want to start a thread to do some market research on, or if Gel from Poppy Hill is thinking about a new course he might put on and wants to gauge interest, etc...the CI subforum allows you to do that. We don't get people thinking the main forum is being used as a shilling ground, but the value of the subforum is having that direct contact with the commercial people that we users will always have a need for.

Are they the ones where you push the fader up to turn the sound down?

I remember the story I heard about that was that the BBC ordered their desks with reveresed faders so if someone/something fell on the desk and pushed the fader up, something (or everything?) got turned down therefore doing less damage than turning something (or everything?) up ....
