Hey im still waiting for a date for my drivers test but in the meantime i am looking into gettin my first car..Probally a peugeot 106 (maybe gti) or something similiarly small. I am currently a name driver on my fathers insurance policy. Is it possible for him to take out insurance on my potential new car and name me as a driver while i wait for test and also keeping his own car insured? sorry if im not clear just tryin to check the options!

It is possible for your father to have 2 insurance policys. He must have an insurable interest in the car which means your car will need to be in his name.

It should be possible to add you as named driver.

Your father will have to take out a year long policy - if he then decides to cancel after you pass your test if you want your own policy then the cancellation rates differ between insurers.
