Anyone recommend from personal experience somewhere to have a 1.9Tdi Golf serviced for the 1st time? It has the long life service.
Also, if I avoid the main dealers does that leave the VW parts warranty void?
    Thanks

Elm Motors Ltd on the Ennis Road are authorised VW service dealers. Would have a better reputation than the local main dealer. If you want to go main dealer then I'd recommend travelling out of town to either Newmarket Motors in Newmarket, North Cork. Some people recommend Pierse's in Tipperary but I have no experience of them.

If you want a good local independent mechanic I can suggest a few depending on where you live, if you want to PM me.

your warranty is good for 2 years regardless. main dealer service
should help for goodwill cases when warranty runs out but these days
they dont cover what they used to.
