I used to have a Pajero and stuck BFG A/Ts on it 2 years before I sold it, I was a bit wary of buying an A/T tyre for mostly road use but they are superb! I primarily bought them because they look slick! They really do perform on and off road, I did about 18/20k miles on them in 2 years and they were barely worn.

I even remember an occasion when I drove over a glass bottle, smashed it with the front tyre and then went over it with the rear and absolutely nothing happened! I wouldn't like to try that with the Goodyear Eagle F1s that I have on my Audi! The only grip I'd have with the BFGs is that the grip isn't amazing in the wet but I wouldn't exactly call it bad.

I think I paid €160 a tyre for mine but that would have been about 3 years ago. Check out www.camskill.co.uk for tyre prices.

BFG A/T's the only way to go. I've been using them for years on various 4x4's without any serious problems. biggest problem is that they go hard after about 3 yrs. but this should not be a problem if you do enough milage in the 3 yrs. I usually get a min of 50k mls on a set but have had 1 set do 68k mls.

Cheers for that, I'll go with the A/T's so and see how I get on.

Recently replaced 4 Bridgestone Dueler 694 tyres for €560, on a 120 series Landcruiser.

Dave McCann tyres out near Blanchardstown.

I'm putting BF Goodrich AT's on my Pajero tomorrow at €180 a pop, fitted and balanced. I've been using dunlop and Yokohama road tyres for the last three years and would struggle to get 18,000 miles from a set.

    18000!!!

There must be a problem with the place where you get them tracked.

They wear evenly, so tracking is not an issue. I suspect my driving style and the type of roads I generally drive on have more to do with it.

I used to put grandtreks on wifes 4x4 & never did more than 20000 mls even when they were changed around regularly, when they were not changed around the drivers side wore out faster!!!!! I did'nt have the heart to tell her the reason why..

the disco is going in for a DOE in the morning when i was booking it in i asked the lad doing it would the tyres pass ,he said leave them on it as he thought them will .

with 70,000 on them it will be interesting to see if they will .

    at a 180 euro a tyre,does not sound like a deal .

245,75,16 BFs..AT for 150 each tracked balanced fitted and aligned

    Price them from Camskill.co.uk.
    I got a set of 5x 265/75 16 's for €630 delivered.
Cost another €60 for fitting here and balancing.
€690 for 5 BFG AT KO = €138ea. hard to beat that, of course that was back when the euro was a little stronger against Stg.

Camskill will deliver the same tyres for £108.50 +VAT. That's €126 per tyre! Bloody good price and looks like I'll be buying a pair from them.

You won't go wrong with the BFG AT KO they are good solid tyres, I also had great success with Hankook Dynapro HP23 last well, and good grip.
Bear in mind the 265/75 are slightly bigger then the 265/70 as well, just make sure you have the clearance under the arches to run the bigger tyres.
Oh and you don't want to be mixing sizes on a 90 series landcruiser you need to make sure that you have the same size all round, either 265/70 OR 265/75 not a mixture
The 'cruisers are fulltime 4wd and won't like different diameters even if they are on one axle, the centre diff will have a hard time.
You will also have to think about the spare if you go with the bigger size.

the tyres pass the DOE ,but the fecker failed a back bump stop missing and a track rod end was "slightly" wore.

A lad in the place where I get tyres and repairs done told me BF Goodrich is essentially Michelin so you could hardly go wrong there.
