    Hi all,

I have an interview at Unum this week for a graduate position.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on the interview and training processes or what it's like to work there, either first hand or anything you've heard. From what I've read on their site it seems like a nice atmosphere.

    Hi boyAD,

/me checks his Outlook calendar to see if I'll be interviewing you

I'm not going to talk about the interview process other than to say it's pretty straightforward.

I've been with Unum just over a year now and it's a good place to work. We've got a good mixture of technical areas, levels and ages.

Depending on the area a new hire is selected for, they could be working on desktop applications, web services, middleware, web applications, data analysis or mainframe.

Plenty of training is provided both on Unum's business (insurance) and on the area the new hire will be working in.

    hope this helps,

    kevin

From Tuesday June 2nd we'll be on the 2nd floor of Shamrock Plaza, overlooking Shamrock square.

Right now we're out the Athy road, just beyond Irish sugar entrance.

As I live out the Black bog road the new office cuts my commute in half :)

seeing as you seem to have the inside track on Unum. Any chance there is some Project management roles coming up in there?

As I very much fancy trying to cut my commute from 80 mins to 15 mins :D

That's fantastic, How many people will be moving in? It looks a lovely site and I hope it does well. Will it be long term?

I can't say where right this minute as there are ongoing negotiations but plans for a larger permanent home are well underway.

It has quite a panorama, you can see Lidl, Brownhill, Millstream, IT Carlow and over the roofs of Teach Dolmain and the Plough.
