    Hi all,

Have sky plus installed in the house.

From the research i have done it has a quad LNB, and at the moment only one of them is being used.

I want to throw the two spare Sky+ boxes into the spare rooms.

I am assuming i need type 'f' connectors and some coaxial cable?

Do i need to waterproof where i connect inot the LNB?

Anyone reccommend where i can buy the cable( what type) and the connectors?

    Thanks lads.

Sky+ uses two feeds from the quad LNB, meaning you've 2 left, for one other Sky+ box.

If you wish to run three Sky+ boxes, you'll need to get an Octo LNB, which, as the name suggests, has eight outputs.

That said, if you're not going to have subscription cards in them, and won't be recording with them, then 1 feed to each should do.

Yes, you'll need some good quality coaxial cable (eg. TX100), with F connectors to match.

Actually now that you say it we have one sky + box, one standard sky box and im looking to add two more.

Looks like i will only be adding one so and i don't want to be able to use the sky + features. i have a sky card to stick in it though.

So there is probably only 1 connection free on the LNB.

Is there any shop you recommend buying the gear in?

    Thanks for your help

I am in a similar situation - I have a Quad LNB which has 2 slots taken (Sky +), and I also have a spare Sky Box which I am looking to install. One more question though, if I buy a cheap satellite receiver from the likes of Maplin and hook it up to the dish will I get anything through it at all and if yes what will I get through it?

Yes, a cheap basic receiver will pick up any FTA channels on Astra 2/Eurobird1.

    Thanks Byte,

    There good links.

Would you recommend making the connections weather tight into the LNB? What material do you recommend?

    Thanks again for the help
