    Hi folks,

Just bought a new car from the dealer, couple of years old, so second hand.

The tax is out and the log book has been sent to Limerick.

I've been told I'm fine to drive but is there a speedier way to get taxed so I dont have to worry about it.

Do the tax office require the log book when taxing it for the first time under a new owner.?

    Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, you need the tax book to tax it the first time. You'll be ok to drive it. Just keep the receipt with you or something. If you're stopped just say "I'm waiting on the tax book to come back"
