Book a week off in work, or if you're flexible, even better. Just trawl the travel agents the week before looking for last minute deals. Quite fun actually!!

Try budgettravel.ie, just back from Lanzarote got a good deal.
€700 for one week, 2 adults, one infant, flights, accom and transfers included.
Could have got cheaper in Portugal or Majorca but was worried about weather in May there.
