Just talking with my fianceé about movies she's never seen.
The Goonies, Shawshank Redemption, Indiana Jones, Dirty Harry Movies.
Is she alone or are there movies out there that you know you should have seen but for some reason or another just never got a chance too?

And the first time I watched The Lion King was only a few weeks ago

As a self confessed movie buff there's a lot of classics I've never seen. Apocalypse Now, Scarface (no interest, heard enough Tony/Pacino impersonations), Casablanca, lost of Hitchcock, the Graduate being a few I notice through the top 250 on IMDB.

I've never seen Pulp Fiction, just a million clips of it from those countdown thingies on channel 4.

Also The Godfather, I've seen bits of them but never sat down to watch the movies from start to finish.

Everybody should watch the Goonies! There was a piece in the 20th anniversary edition of Empire mag this month, they reuinted the Goonies and holy sh!t Chunk looks nothing like he did as a kid!

As a child I hated almost everything made by disney. There are loads of disney movies I never finished watching because I thought they were sh1t.

I've never seen Bambi or Back to the Future, or The Goonies.

Fcuk Bambi, and you could be let away with not seeing the Goonies, but never having seen Back To The Future?! - You my friend had a deprived childhood!

I could never manage a sitting of any of The Godfather films, Scarface or Citizen Kane. I don't believe there's anything wrong with these films, I just don't like being told in advance I'm supposed to be blown away by them then listening to the ramifications if I disagree. I'll see them at some stage, but not anytime soon!

As for kids films, due to an Xtra Vision upbringing I pretty much saw everything but I'm always shocked at the lack of people that have seen The Go Kids (aka The Quest OR Frog Warriors). It's an aussie film from the eighties starring Henry Thomas and was just a great little adventure film for kids. Virtually impossible to find now but sweet jebus I loved it. Same goes for Flight of the Navigator and Wizard

Apparently Fritzel's favourite scene was where the mother tries to cop off with the son.

never watch 2001: A Space Odyssey fully.. that monkey at the start scared the crap out of me..

I think you need to see some of these films when growing up to teach you important life lessons..
like if i never saw weekend at bernies, i would probably just ring the police if i found a dead body but since watching that film i am now aware that just because i know he is dead doesnt mean anyone else needs to know especially when there is a chance of a party..

The Goonies was a classic movie.
If you've a nephew or niece around as an excuse, then watch it.... ah the truffle shuffle !

I always remember seeing a trailer/poster of "The Wizard of space and time" and thought it looked good. Never seen it.

Also haven't seen any of the Harry Potter movies.

On my first date with my gf the topic of film came up asI'm studying film and she said that she had never seen the Lost Boys. I was quite shocked by this and brought her back to mine to watch it. On the second date she said she had never seen Serenity so I had to bring her back to watch it and then worst of all she lied and said it was'nt one of the best films ever.

haven't seen a film yet in this thread that I haven't seen as a child. I put it down to the fact that we got a VCR a looooong time before we got cable and we rented around 10 movies every week (I think the local xtra vision always had 3 for 2's on rentals). However there's a few classics I've seen as a child that I didn't like the first time round (and even less on a second viewing because I was made watch them by people that said "you don't remember it correctly, you can't possibly not like that movie")

Example being "The Princess Bride", I did not care for that movie.

I do know a guy in work who hasn't seen loads of movies I thought every child had seen (I guess his parents wanted him to spend more time outdoors or some other such guff)

    Movies like:

    Labyrinth
    Willow
    Flight of the Navigator
Back to the Future II and III
    The Goonies
    Short Circuit
    Little Monsters
    Mac and Me
    The Garbage Pail Kids
    Supergirl
    The Land Before Time
    Watership Down
    Explorers

Actually, now that I think of it, I've never seen Time Bandits or The Lost Boys

Plenty of people in my film course have seen none of those films. We were discussing it one day nad the number of people who had never seen the classic kids films of our generation was amazing.

If the beginning bothered you, you really won't like the closing scenes. Very little violence, but Kubrick and Clarke raise some very awkward questions about, well, humanity.

I'm also among those who didn't get to see many Disney films as a kid, though that has since been partly rectified. In the last few years I've seen Alice In Wonderland, Dumbo, Lilo & Stich and Bambi, but have never seen Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King. or Beauty and the Beast.

If I look at the IMDB Top 250, there are two in the top ten that I haven't seen: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and 12 Angry Men. If these are really better than e.g. Sunset Boulevard or Shichinin no Samurai, I'd better get on the case.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Can;t speak for 12 Angry Men but Cuckoo's is an extremely well made film and though tragic is accessible and easy enough viewing from that point of view, highly recommended.
