HOT Wired Car Problem..Help please :)

    Hi all,

About 3 months, some knacker broke into my CRX that was parked right outside my front door. To make a long story short, the only reason that he/she did not get away with the car was that the battery was dead (as it is not driven very frequently at all.)

So anyway...the door lock is broken, the ignition part smashed/removed from the steering column...wires everywhere - I'm sure you get the picture!

Because I don't use the car much, I decided to try get the parts to fix it myself or get a hand from a mechanic.
I managed to get an ignition part with new locks and keys on ebay, which was great, but now I don't know what to do next.

Anyone any experience of this? Is it a big job? Any idea of costings?
When the car was driving it was in really great condition and alot of fun. Now that the summer is upon us, I'd like to get it going again.

    thanks :)

    q.

Its not a big job the wires are colour coded and not many of them.

Solder and heat shrink them back together and maybe consider an alarm/immobaliser.

A hays manual may also help

    ah cheers,

I'll have a go and let ye u know how I get on... There's also the small issue of the TOAD alarm and immobiliser to complicate things further....uuggghhh...what a mess!

Why can't scumbags find something more productive to do at night time...grrrr
If only I caught him in the act....I'd definitely give him and his broken fingers something to think about :)
