    Hi,

My Humax HDR arrived yesterday evening. Lovely little box. I'm very pleased with it so far. I'm looking forward to playing with it a bit more over the coming days.

    2 questios though;
    1. If I change my location to London so that I can get ITV HD, I presume it means that I can't get UTV by default as my ITV 1 then? I'm assuming though there's a favourites menu I can add UTV to if I need to look at anything on there and that it'll show up on the EPG as a regional channel anyway?

    2. Is there any way that I can add Channel 4 HD to the channel list?

    Thanks!

You can keep your NI postcode - ITV1 London is available on channel 977, so you can access the red button there.

No Ch4HD at the moment, but is is rumoured to join 'in the future'.

I have a Humax HDR also, and if anyone know how to delete these 'folders' used for series link (after all the programmes have been viewed and deleted), please advise.

I tried switching to 977 last night and then tried hitting the Red teletext button but nothing happened. The info screen still showed 576. I read after that it was explicitely disallowed in our region. What is the proper way to get the HD versino of ITV then? Should I see something like 'Press Red Button' like you see on the BBC for their text service?

    thanks

Was there anything on ITVHD last night? The "Press Red Button" prompt for ITVHD only comes up when they are actually broadcasting in HD so your next opportunity to check will be Wednesday night for the Champions League Final.

Yes, when ITV HD is available you will get a "Press 'Blue Button' to watch in HD" prompt when you change to ITV1.

When you're in the Media folder, press the OPT+ button to get into Media Manager. The red button will then delete folders. RTFM:)

    Thank for the info...

In enabling Sky news and other chanels, please give more details for a new user in doing this from the menu button to get non freesat progs, and can I generate a user list of these?

i am thinking of ditching sky for freesat, what with next years world cup in hd on BBC and now ITV.too much bother with sky"s other channels, the number of times ive watched a programme only to find it was also in HD in the "other channels".A HUMAX HDR is what i want to get,so anyone with one of these could you give me definite "yes get one" or no stick with rupert.DONT mind losing nursing home tv....sorry RTE.

I was a Sky customer up until last month and i had been almost since the Premier League commenced almost 18yrs i think.

Anyway i dont miss Sky and i am very content with the box and it great facilities without having to pay any bills monthly.

The big test for me will be when the soccer starts back in late August. :o

I am hoping to be content with Match of the Day and i do love that programme and have been enjoying MOTD since the early 1970's.

Fot me Sky is crapp except for their sports coverage but i felt it was all gone too expensive and i used to fork out for setanta as well now its all gone and i feel good about having good quality tv without any bills.

By the way i was in Spain last week and i was using the TDT service. Its their digital free tv service and its fantastic. We are so ripped off in this country high tv licence and crap service.

In Spain they have their free digital tv service like English Freeview. All new tvs in Spain have the digital receiver built in i just plugged the tv in and straight away get 40 top class digital channels including disney channel, and it even shows English live Premiership. Its top quality picture and sound. People with old tvs just buy a small external receiver box and i even got a box very a cheap price of only approximately E40

I suppose we will eventually get a similar service after we pay through the nose. (sorry for drifting thread but i just had to get that off my chest)

in spain last year i found it amazing that all the other nations on holiday in spain had a tv station from their own country.why dont tv3 seize the opportunity.

I got rid of Sky about a year ago after 12 years on the principal that it is £46 (€53) in the UK and €70 here for the same package, and their crappy call centre wouldn't give me a discount. Bought the Humax HD and have not missed it one bit €840 saved. Any crucial matches Heineken Cup, premiership I will watch in the pub or online. Still have loads of movies taped and the box is easy to use. so I would definitely recommend it.
