So I'm a guy I have a bit of a problem. I have a lot of little spots on my penis and testicles. Dont worry I got them checked out in the clinic and was told they are only hair follicles and that alot of guys have them. They are harmless. Anyways I was wondering is there any cream of something to help clear them up because even though they are harmless they aren't the most attractive things to have down there!

    Blocked hair follicles, ingrown hairs.

The best thing to do is to exfoliate (there are body scrubs that come in wide mouth tubs for this purpose, boots do ones that aren't very expensive) and then use an antiseptic cleanser like anything you'd use for acne on your face. Follow it up with a moisturizer to make sure you haven't dried it out too much.

Waxing and following proper aftercare may also eliminate the problem.

If it still persists, you should visit the clinic again and see what they suggest.

i remember a thread on this recently...

    1. this is apparently very, very common, so don't worry about it!

    2. the only real way to get rid of them is by surgery (laser or something) in england. 700 quid and not worth it.

Errr- to be honest- I wouldn't be advocating this course of action at all. Its incredibly common on guys- and is not a problem at all- its just a 'feature'..... Hair folicles in pubic regions tend to be a lot more prominent than elsewhere.

I can only imagine that exfoliating one's private region would not exactly be the most comfortable way to go about things......... (ouch!)

Do you have a link to that thread?

I would have to agree with smccarrick, I don't even know how you would even begin to exfoliate the skin on the ballbag(technical term) as the skin is so loose. You may have better luck on the penis itself, but even there the idea of a scrub kinda brings out the crossed legs look in me. Here's a wacky thought. What about one of those face pack thingies. Put that on and let it draw out any blocked pores that are there. Maybe that might work?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Oh ffs,

Stop being so paranoid- it's perfectly natural- there is NOTHING unusual or wrong with them- leave them the feck alone.

Do you know how many people attend A&E every year with cut penises from shaving pubes- get a trimmer- keep a neat pubic region, practise save sex and worry bout the dolphins.

the body scrubs aren't like sandpaper you know :P

They don't hurt to use at all.

I don't have a penis or a scrotum though, and my OH doesn't have these bumps. I may have misunderstood, I thought he meant ingrown hairs. If they're just enlarged hair folicles then that's different.

I understand most (all?) men have hair follicles like this on their penis and scrotum - they are literally the same as (permanent) goose bumps. Its just that some of them don't have hair.

Obviously if there is a change, swelling, colour change, etc. you should see a doctor.

I think you are talking about Fordyce's spots (look it up). They may be unsightly but they are very common so i wouldn't worry about it mate.

It's not that i worried about them, like I said I got the all clear at the clinic. I would just like to clear up the spots on this region.

Ok, I'm a girl, and I went and Googled Fordyce's spots... and I got lots of pictures of perfectly normal-looking penises. Honestly, OP, I wouldn't let it bother you - no girl is ever going to even notice or think it's unusual. I didn't realise it was until this thread... I just thought that's what some penises look like! It's absolutely not unattractive at all.

Mate I have them too and for as long as I remember so I didnt contract them. I am guessing they are white/flesh coloured. Do not moisture or get a scrubbing bruch to them. You cant get rid of them. They serve a function

Every guy has them it just they are more prominant in some guys than others (plus if you are spanking the monkey a lot, this will make them more obvious...;)) Thats why God invented lube.

You have done the right thing anyway by going to the clinic as we are not in a postion to offer health advice.

exactly what I have. I was worried it was something more serious, but 2 of mine have turned into bigger acne type spots, and from me squeezing the hairs, they have left little scars, which look a bit unsightly. I don't think a woman would like it at all, so I am trying to use clearsil to clear them up. We'll see,,,,

    Ok, stop using clearasil!!

Secondly, stop squeezing them... leave them be!

Leave the ones you've squeezed to heal normally - maybe put some Savlon on them to promote quicker healing, maybe some aloe vera to prevent scarring after they're healed up.

The best thing you can do is leave them alone, seriously.

I seem to have the same problem although they are up along my penis aswell. Would you have hair follicles up there? Also the doc told me to wash them with salt water? Anyone tried this and does it help?

+1 Maybe some aloe vera as opposed to the savlon, you'll get it in any holland & barrett store

Agreed it's not a problem BUT if the OP is paranoid or self-conscious about them which he appears to be, then I would recommend doing what he can to clear them up. Especially if there is a reasonably easy way of doing this.

Hang on are they actual oozing spots or white bumps?
If it's the latter then they are fordyce spots.

I know that this is a serious topic for the OP, but to me it's funny. I mean - who the hell is ever going to be looking down there and inspecting your private parts. I'm going to be perfectly blunt and say that women aren't one bit interested in doing any sort of close up inspection of the nether regions so I doubt it any issue will ever arise.

Focus on making use of the best parts of you whether it's your personality or what ever and don;t let the imperfections that we all have count whatsoever.

Honestly, try not to worry about them.
You say only two of them have developed into the larger white pimple type spots.
Count yourself lucky, I've loads of them and they get quite big and sore sometimes.

All perfectly normal as I've had them checked numerous times before also.

The women folk dont even notice them either, I'd assume they'll show up more if your balder than a baby down there but you'll make up for that in how big 'himself' looks anyway :pac:

The best thing to do with them is actually avoid using cleaning products on them. Even shower gels can aggravate them.
Keep yourself clean obviously but try avoiding direct contact with shower gels/spot creams for a few weeks to see if that helps the spots themselves.

ok, just googled Fordyce spots... the willies (ahem) shown in the pics look like any other penis i have ever seen! OP, nothing to worry about! They are totally normal and no woman is going to think there is something odd going on.
