Eoin Ryan has a stack of posters up where he is holding a placard with various slogans on them. One is "My focus in Europe in jobs". A wag on the quays has put "Starting with my own" on one. Given that he has his 15 year old daughter out campaigning- its probably accurate......

I don't even know whos running in mine- (SDCC), and to be honest- have been salivating at the thought of giving canvassers a piece of my mind- other than the circulars from the MEP candidates- nada thus far. I think Mary Lou gets depressed when she sees me- I gave her a grilling on Sinn Fein's economic policys in the last general election up in Superquinn Lucan. Funnily enough- I think I got her several votes- she came across as incredibly likeable on a personal level (policies aside).

It is a pity to see her apologising for the picture. She should have said it shows she is human and has a good social life and if anyone was offended by it tough. Be great to see politicians getting a bit braver about that kind of thing. Porn stars can run for office in other countries.

There are a lot of young women up for election. And most of them are very naive and dont know a lot about politics. Like the Sinn Fein candidate on tonight, talking about property tax. I'm not sure that she knew whether a property tax existed or not, seemed like it was just one of the buzz words that she was told to use in the answer for question 5.

I thought that the Emma Kiernan photo was harmless, it showed that she is a bit of a laugh, anyone who would be offended would probably not be on facebook in any case.

Exactely! She might have a few things to learn as a councilor but it's nice to see someone going out and having a bit of a laugh with their mates... like the rest of us do! Takes away from the traditional stuffy image you have of council chambers!

Ivor the Engine's son Ronan Callely is standing in the Clontarf area for DCC. His slogan is "We Need Change Now" despite being a member of Fianna Failure.
His posters are a faily large compared to other candidates because of the irregular shape.
It also has a facebook logo (copyrighted and up without permission AFAIK).

Still, if his political skills are anything like his wheel changing skills, then he is already better than daddy!

It is a pity that she felt the need to apologise alright. However, i suspect that her apology was more of a function of the party that she is running for and the fairly socially conservative base they try to appeal to

Change and FF. Thats a fookin hoot. Plus the flagrant robbing of Obama's sentiment is pathetic to the exterme.

His litrature is apparently covered in attacks on the government, and rhetoric, which would be similar to that of a Fgers. Incredible, if it wasnt for FF, daddy Callely would not be in the Oireachtas at the moment
