I use zym, it has caffein in it :), and I sometimes mix it with lucozade sport and water.

Caroline do you use one tablet per half litre of water and you take one per ride or more? Mixing it with lucozade sounds scary tbh!

I fill my bottle with lucozade sport + water half/half and add a zym tablet, it's nice!

Half lucozade sport, half water. Gonna look into getting some of these hydration tablet jobbies. Getting fed up of the taste of lucozade sport.

Usually water. Or for a longer spin or race I'd have a bottle of high 5 and a bottle of water.

Robinsons Barley Water pretty well diluted. Scientifically not the most beneficial but at the moment it suffices...

    High5 4:1 drink for me
and what to drink to recover afterwards?
Beer, preferably something with plenty of hops in it like a Goose Island IPA or Big Daddy Prohibition.

Well you know what I drink, so thanks very much! :)

My brother has the chocolate flavoured protein supplement from those chaps, I'll ask him where he picked it up.

There's a good place at the end of westmoreland street across from trinity more or less, it's fairly cheap to, I think it's actually cheaper than online.....I buy from there the guy that runs it seems sound as well! Tell him ur a student and you'll get an extra 10% off

I do like that Prohibition myself...

On the bike, it's water in one bottle, and either Nuun or Carborocket in the other. Nuun is great for hydration (and hangovers!), but Carborocket has to be my favourite fuel -tasty and great :)

    ah, they're only small ones!!

Plus if I ever get to the stage where I could do something like the Sean Kelly or the Wicklow 200, then it'll be one for every 10km and 1 for every 500m climbed - that's what I call fluid replacement!

S.I.S do a good range of before, during and after drinks etc.

Their 'GO' gels are good. Not to thick and sticky. Have gotten me over a few hills :D

Nuun Tablets for me in each bottle, they recommend 1 to 500ml but 1 to 750ml means it's not to sweet or sickly i find. The SIS is good i'm sure but i find it to sickly after a while. Not sure i could handle it for 8-9 hours in the saddle!

If i think of it a protein shake after and if i have have a chance a nice cold beer! :D

same, I use one Nuun per 750ml bottle, when that runs out just use water.
after ... giant pot of peppermint tea

Just asked him, he got it from the Health Store in Dundrum and apparently Chartbusters in Donnybrook sell maximuscle also, dunno if it's just protein as well as recovery drink.

    How very odd.

I think it's to do with the whole tanning thing they have going on, either that or popcorn has sadly been replaced as a favourite movie treat.

After a brief dalliance with customs (think they saw the white powder and went a bit mad), I'll be trying out zipvit's range of drinks and gels shortly -good enough for Cervelo, so good enough for Mr Explosions

Started drinking Nuun recently and find it good. One tablet in each water bottle starting off and if planning a long ride I'll wrap a couple of tablets in cling film and stick them in the back pocket for when I refill.

Is Nuun the tablet form of Blue Nun?

    Eh, no. http://www.nuun.com/

Save the Blue Nun until you're home and hosed.
