Trouble adding 2nd controller to ps3

So I bought a generic controller for the ps3 and when I went to add it and it wouldn't sync.

Basically when you plug it in to the usb port and switch on the console the lights flash as they should normally but it never syncs up.

This happens whether the other controller is synced or not or whether I try it wirelessly or through the usb cable.

    Anyone have this problem? Solutions?

    wats the make and model?
might be a stupid question but did you try the manual with the controller?

Well it was a cheap one I got off ebay so didn't get any manual with it.

Can't remember the make and model at the minute - I'm in work and the ps3 is at home.

Check at the back of the controller for a small reset button, if its anyhting like a ps3 controller then you'll need a paperclip to press it.

Try a different usb cable when connecting it to the ps3 and leave it charge for a while, then press the ps button to try and sync it.

If all that fails then try sending it back for a new one or refund cos its f***ed
