Pat Kenny does it again he get another fruit cake junk science reporter on air to spout yet more junk science this time the garbage that CO2 can acidify the ocean water world wide and all the fish will die of so sooon

The RTE pod cast Monday 25th may 1 hour 30 minutes into the show is Elana Michell journalist who wrote a book sea sick and you can listen the tripe there

First facts are the sea acidity level has been rising for hundreds of years nothing to do with humans.
Recent human inputs do not look to be inputing any significant amount in global terms but can in closed lakes and closed bays can impact small local regions.

The main CO2 global warming is the real source to kill of the Corals so the acid bit gets forgotten so back to good old false science global warming from CO2

Gulf of Mexico story of BLOBS I kid you not is local to gulf of `Mexico and a solvable local problem and not a threat to global ocean

Simply put if you take all the known resources of fossil fuel past present and future and set fire to them some 40 plus cubic miles of fossil fuels they produce 100 plus cubic miles of CO2 in mathematical terms as in each one kilogram of fossil fuel makes an average of 2.5 kilograms of CO2

Dissolve all that into the Millions of Cubic miles of ocean water in the planet and you add one part of CO2 to the 5,000,000 parts of the ocean water which junk science says is going to kill all the life in the ocean eeeekkk

Now take you own fish bowl and add one 1/5,000,000 th of acid to the water and somehow i dont think the gold fish will curl up and die from that

Even double or triple that acid level will probably not kill the gold fish or the oceans of the planet so QED somebody is again preaching Junk science yet again to rescue the defunct CO2 science thaat is sopposed to be cooking our goose

Even if some of theses CO2 made some extra acid it is clear the acid level would never change enough to create a problem

Unless you of course happen to own and control most of the important University,s in the world and you wanted to prove otherwise then you can make 2 plus two make a million and distort the data and say the CO2 junk science is the boogie man that will cook our goose or something.

I text ed RTE show today but as usual they let the junk science have the podium wiith no public input as they know the public is waking up too science is now lying through it teeth much as millions of scientists in did in the past when they claimed smoking was good for us.

Nothing changed in science they whore themselves to the highest bidder the CO2 brigade who want to make a fortune on our backs taxing us for a harmless gas so they can distract us from real environmental in your face problems like sewage in Ringsend plants are falling apart or PCB is in the pig feed whatever.

And RTE isn't doing its part to highlight the lies the CO2 brigade produce in bucketful's for this junk science CO2 is the boogie man

Now CO2 is losing its grip on fooling us with global warming and climate change false science they are trying the same stunt with ocean water and acidifying the oceans junk science

Yes there are local pollution issues close to cities where pollution levels are high like Dublin bay but mid oceans there isn't this big CO2 acidify story they want us to swallow but the junk science brigade often take closed of bays where water mix rates are low and infer this is world wide event .

The problem is false CO2 pollution brigade junk science take much needed money and science resources falsely where the money would be better spent on real in your face environmental issues .
Example are like where is the toxic waste the western world dumps off Ethiopia sea waters as they have no government to catch the polluters going in the fish population or similar real pollution events or why we cant trust the scientist to tell us the truth on drinking water in ROI especially Galway

But if you want a good boggie man horror story read to spook you in the night time then buy the junk science book from a non scientist fiction novel writer :p

    Source?

Are we still talking about acidification? Because the Royal Society would seem to disagree:
In the past 200 years the oceans have absorbed approximately half of the CO2 produced by fossil fuel burning and cement production. Calculations based on measurements of the surface oceans and our knowledge of ocean chemistry indicate that this uptake of CO2 has led to a reduction of the pH of surface seawater of 0.1 units, equivalent to a 30% increase in the concentration of hydrogen ions.

I don’t know what you’re basing all that on, but it has been estimated that ocean pH could decrease by approximately 0.5 units by the end of this century, depending on CO2 emissions.

Save it for the CT forum.

Simple if you bother to check the numbers and scale them down to laboratory dimensions as in add so many parts of extra CO2 to a scale version of the ocean sea water it would require that the human race would have to burn some 100 times maybe even a thousand as much fossil fuels than exist in the planet to make the sea water reach this 0.5 units PH change they refer too

I ant no Chemical engineer but if you can prove the theory of a 0.5 PH change in 100 liters of sea water with as little as one part change in 5,000,000 parts of sea water then you are some amazing chemical engineer and should get the Nobel prize
or you should check your numbers and go hide in the unfashionable draughty basements of the suedo science university that sold you the $100 science degree for inventing a crap science that a 1st year science student could drive a bus through:pac::pac::pac:

Me I just run basic maths test on crap science and from crap universities that spout global crap and its in your face they are LYING PERIOD so the real question is why are they lying and you haven't figured out HITLER STALIN and similar LIED ALSO

All you got to do for source is google any source total volume of ocean water in cubic kilometers or cubic miles.

Then source total cubic kilometers or cubic miles of known fossil fuel reserves past present and future

Basic maths take a infinitely large number the ocean sea water volume and add to it a infinitely small number the total amount of CO2 that is made from burning all known fosil fuels globally in some few hundred years and when you divide a infinitely huge number by a infinitely small number the answer is as close to zero as doesn't matter unless your a university that can twist the data to get more research grants from your suedo science high roller boss who wants a different result so as to justify CO2 taxxes to make more money or similar

The easiest to fool on the planet say the magicians that ESP exists in science tests are scientists

I have no idea what you’re talking about here, but one thing is clear – you don’t understand what pH is or how it is measured. Everything you need to know (along with appropriate references) is contained within the document I linked to in my previous post:
Based upon current measurements of ocean pH, analysis of CO2 concentration in ice cores, our understanding of the rate of CO2 absorption and retention in the surface oceans, and knowledge of the CaCO3 buffer (Section 2.2.2), it is possible to calculate that the pH of the surface oceans was 0.1 units higher in pre-industrial times (Caldeira & Wickett 2003; Key et al 2004). This 0.1 pH change over about the past 200 years corresponds to about a 30% increase in the concentration of hydrogen ions.

I see global warming has gone the same way as global cooling.

At least the "scientists" have finally copped on. Create a problem that is unspecified and then man is to blame be it warm, cold, wet, dry.

"climate change", used to be known as the weather, now you need to pay a carbon tax to justify mere existance.

What are the little people not expected to believe?
