Looks great, the 2.0TFSI engine prolly better choice than the 2.0 / 2.7TDI.
The 3.2FSI is a little pointless, get the quattro over the FWD basic version.

thinking of the 2.0tdi, has the lowered emissions 156euro road tax.....

Its fine alright, but wouldnt be my choice. The 2.0TFSI is only EUR430 tax (EUR300 if FWD version), which is the same as the 2.0TDI quattro while delivering better performance and sound. EUR430 Road Tax is still dirt cheap.
I just think the pokey little TDI is a bit "cheap" for a car with the presence of the A5. Its a stunning car and that engine is basically the engine 90% of Passats waft about on.

The 2.0TFSI is a new engine delivering diesel like torque with petrol like power (211bhp) and 40+MPG. The 3.0TDI is the diesel engine Id consider for the A5 or the 2.7 at a push.

Dont let a once off annual fee determine the engine you drive each and everyday.

Thing is even though you're right (IMO), 90% of buyers will automatically go for the diesel. Cue sucking of teeth by saleman when trade-in time comes.

I'd still go for the 2.0TFSI though and Quattro would be essential. With FWD and 2.0TDI you might as well be driving a Passat.

I don't agree on the sucking of teeth, not when the TFSI has such low emissions also. In a car like the A5 the petrol will be sought after by second hand buyers.

The 2.0T in the A5 is competing against the 3.0L in the 325i coupe and is pretty comparable in most aspects. The A5 is a nice drive if not quite as engaging as the E92, the A5 looks a bit nicer imo, however both require large wheels to really look their best.

I preferred the interior of the A5 too, but the back seats are quite poky compared to the E92, especially considering how much bigger the A5 appears.

Im not too bothered about the depreciation I had a one year old car trading in against this one and the price has nearly fallen 50%, I dont think any car aside from a classic will hold value in this environment, not with the deals on new cars being offered.
The tsi engine on the audis is also very similar to those on the passats? its the saem company after all?
The audi comes with a s-line package with 18inch alloys and bit of a diff looking body, so thats the one Im thinking about. The 19inch alloys look good also, but i think 18 s lines will be fine?

IMO these are the nicest wheels on any car on the road at the minute
