Smell in taxis

Many times i have gotten into a taxi pissed. Many times there is a horrible smell from air "freshener" and even during summer the taxi man has the heat on which adds to my feeelings of nausea. What the feck is that chemically air "freshener" smell i always seem to have to endure?

Isn't that air freshner smell not the smell used to cover that? The taxi driver is probably doing you a favour since that up there is a nasty combination of smells.

I always wondered about the smell of air freshner in every taxi aswell.
I was drunk one night on the way home and asked the taxi driver if they give out free air freshners when you get your taxi licence.
He didn't find it funny so I suggested that maybe he got a free taxi licence when he bought an air freshner, he found that even less funny but i lol'd anyway.

One for my friends was on a bender all day in another city and wanted to get a taxi home and had to travel 30km. The car had only travelled a few meters when another guy hailed the same taxi. The guy asked to share the taxi and my mate was fine with that .
Anyways on the motorway the stranger was feeling a bit Green and pucked in the front seat.

Well of course this caused a chain reaction in the taxi and my mate decided to be respectful by pulling out the front of his T-shirt and pucking inside his T-shirt.
This must have been going on for about 40min because the taxi never stopped all the way home and everytime someone pucked the other would follow.

I got into a taxi last week and the guy was eating a cheeseburger while he drove me. He knocked a fiver off the price though, so whatever

I listen to my ipod, I only turn it down when we're nearing my house and may have to give directions. Or just go "yeah.." to everything they say, they shut up quickly enough

Have noticed alot of taxi drivers have some serious hygiene issues of late.

Got a taxi driver on Friday evening who had the back windows locked so i couldnt roll it down and the fecker smelled quite bad.

Well I can't agree with all the say, but as regards Dublin, their are far too many taxi drivers out there who definitely have not passed the street knowledge taxi test, and I have to be honest, most of the ones I have had difficulty with have been, let's say, Chinese, African etc. That's not racism, it's fact. I mean getting a taxi on St Stephen's Green and having to tell the taxi driver how to get to Dundrum......even as we went through Ranelagh and passing UCD and I asked him did he know what part of Dublin he was in and each time he didn't know ......
Looks like the mighty Fianna Fail f**ked up as usual in their deregulation of the taxi trade, what else could we expect at this stage I suppose.

I havnt read a post in AH that made me lol in a while, then BAM out of nowhere here comes this one. I know someone who is black and drives taxis, I shall ask him if this is the reason.

Bunted out a copper coloured bolus marbled with garlic in a taxi from Bray to Enniskerry.

Trick is to ease down the kex and pretend to be looking out the back window with one cheek hanging free over the back seat and the muzzle free.

Word of advice though...have correct fare or near it ready.. don't pop the plug until almost at destination... make sure it's a clean silent "hit", think torpedo.

Any squelching or spluttering is a no no.

Slip her into the side pocket and you are good to go.

The driver then started spraying Glade air freshener around the cab. I was expecting him to apologise for a stray fart or something, but no; "the poxy surgeon f*cked me up good and proper. I have to wear a bag now, but it's after leaking. sorry for the smell".
