Is anyone a member of a club which runs weekend competitions over a Saturday and a Sunday, i.e. the same competition in which you can only play once but for which you can play either day?

    How does it work?

_ Can you only play one of the days?

_ If you opt to play in the comp on the Sunday, does this mean you're not allowed to play the course on the Saturday?

_ Are the pin positions / tee positions kept the same for both days?

Our Captains prize qualifying is done over 2 days, with a different css for both days. I can't recall pin positions changing and the course closes Friday (late afternoon). As far as I am aware you could go out for a few practice holes on the Saturday night prior to a Sunday start.

Our singles comps in Tullamore do be played over 2 days, a few hours on the saturday and then a full time sheet on the sunday. You can play the course on the Saturday but the pins are different on the Sunday.

in our place you can play only one day. if youre entered on sunday you can play practice on saturday. the pins do change from day to day.

I think most of the weekend competitions in our place can be played on either the Saturday or the Sunday. I don't think that pins are changed and I doubt that you are disallowed from playing (practicing) the course on the Saturday if you are entered to play on Sunday. It can be a bummer if you play in foul weather one of the days and the guys who played the other day get it 'easy' but such is life.
I know it is there to facilitate people and encourage more members to play competitively but I'd prefer the competitions to be run on one day only... ideally one each day of the weekend but you'd need a big playing membership for that.

You have to sign into the computer before you go out to play (and record your booking/starting time) or else it's DQ

In our place you can play both days in competition. Nothing stopping you from playing saturday practice and comp on sunday. The pins are the same everyday. This has always been the case for as long as I remember. I think this is due to the fact that we rely on Visitors alot during the summer and sponsors are hard to come by for a saturday and a sunday so we just run the one comp over the two days.,

I dont mind Playing over two days although I find it strange that we get emailed out the results from saturdays comp on saturday evening, from how did i do, so if you played that day you can see what scores were posted that day. Would have thought this was against the rules?

In our place most competitions are weekend comps and you can play Fri Sat and Sun if you like. The higest score from each day gets a prize plus the overall winner down to third.
However some comps are qualifing such as the captains prize and you can only enter once on either Friday or Saturday. No specific number from each day is required to go through. Qualifiers are then eligable to play again on the Sunday.

At my club the same comp is run over Sat & Sun. As far as I know pins are the same for the two days but you can play on Saturday & re-enter for Sunday. Can be different CSS for the two days though.
