Trying to fix indicator problem. All indicators have stopped so I'd think its a flasher unit problem but i checked the car manuals and can't find any ref to the location of flasher unit..

I suspect that its located in the dash with the hazard switch, i say this because i can feel the clicking through the dash in the hazard switch area.

Anybody able to confirm this and help me out..

regards Ivan and thanks in advance

    PS
I read some where that some golfs were recalled to deal with a problem involving the indicators, anybody ever hear about this?

i had the same problem with a 01 golf a while back.
ya is the hazard switch, i brought it to a garage and he prized it out with a small screwdriver and replaced it. 2 minutes job done.

Ok nice one thanks for the advise.

I read in the manual that these switches are difficult to prise out but i give it a go.

PS the manual said that they should be pushed out from the rear of the panel!

There should be blank panels either each side of the switch or else on one side, remove them if you can as its easier to pry the switch from the side. Switch is about 30 or 40, can get it from vw dealer or gsf carparts.
