Night at the Museum Defeats Terminator @ US Box Office!

    - Night at the Museum
    : Battle of the Smithsonian debuted #1 at the box office with $53.4 million. The film had a budget of $150 million, and scored the highest per theater average of any in the top ten with $13,062 per theater.

    - Terminator
    Salvation debuted #2 at the box office with $43 million in its opening weekend. The film has made $56.3 million since opening Thursday, and had a budget of $200 million.

    - Star Trek
    fell one spot to #3 at the box office, earning $21.9 million to take its three-week total to $183.5 million.

    - Angels & Demons fell three spots to #4, earning $21.4 million and raising its total to $81.5 million. The film had a budget of $150 million.

    - Dance Flick debuted #5 at the box office, earning $11.1 million. The film had a budget of $25 million.

    - X-Men Origins: Wolverine fell three spots to #6 at the box office, earning $7.8 million and raising its four-week gross to $163 million. The film had a budget of $150 million.

    - Ghosts of Girlfriends Past fell three spots to #7 at the box office, earning $3.7 million and raising its total to $45.8 million.

    - Obsessed fell three spots to #8 at the box office, earning $2 million and raising its total to $65.9 million. The film had a budget of $20 million.

    - Monsters vs. Aliens fell two spots this week to #9 at the box office, earning $1.3 million and raising its total to $192.9 million. The film had a budget of $175 million.

    - 17 Again rounds out the top 10, bringing in $1 million and raising its total to $60.3 million.

    Ya I posted similar stuff in the Terminator thread, Terminator Salvation is SERIOUSLY fuuucked now. Horrible opening weekend, reviews and word of mouth. NATM's numbers aren't great too, it'll probably finish up about 100m shy of the U.S gross of the first one. Looks like out of all the major May releases (Wolverine, A&D, TS, NATM2) only Star Trek will cross $200m, would never have predicted that a month ago

    Really was a battle of mediocrity (and lower - Dance Flick I'm guessing is all kinds of awful) in the US charts this week - Star Trek is the only interesting thing on the whole top ten list. At least Up will be along next week (or October over here) to put everything else in its place.
