Thanks for the heads up. :)

Don't know if I can make it, but I've been hounding canvassers about it. The lack of awareness amongst the "footsoldiers" on the issue is depressing.

I'm desperately trying to escape a commitment to make this meeting, and I've convinced a few others to go too.

Everyone who can go, should go.

I'm looking forward to meeting Ian O' Doherty. His spot in the Indo always entertains me.
Also, Robbie Bonham is one of the funniest comics about so i'm sure between these two the meeting wont be a drab affair.

Gah, had I found out sooner, I'd have gone.

Robbie Bonham is funny, but I'm embarrassed to admit I've not heard of Ian O'Doherty.:o

He's the author of 'iSpy' a section in the Independant newspaper. Its kind of like cynical yet fun editorial on curent events and internet oddities from the perspective of a sarcastic atheist.
The anti Kevin Myers so to speak.

Swapped my days off so I could go tonight and not be knackered tomorrow :)

Ian ODoherty is a (edit: not nice man... in my opinion. << ). Can't staaannnd him. Interested to see what all have to say though.

Not the best plugged or advertised of events though. All the Socialism Ireland events in Wynns tend to have posters festooned everywhere etc.
Someone needs to get a hold of some pr, start getting stuff like this plugged on rte, newstalk, 4 etc, since they all tend to do roundups of "stuff" going on in the city. I was flicking between the three all day and didn't hear a mention (though that may have something to do with it. << ))

I only heard about it (sorry about the late posting guys!) because I'm friends with Robbie Bonham on Facebook and I saw one of his blog entries. Quite lucky actually because I rarely use Facebook.

Seventeen British men arrested for wearing nuns' habits and accused of offensive behaviour been freed by a court on the Greek island of Crete.

The prosecutors dropped the charges against them after no one showed up to testify that they had been upset by the tourists' conduct.

It would be great if everyone who attended dressed up blasphemously.

Just walked out. It was a good meeting I reckon, even if I found myself with some of what IOD said. :pac:
Certainly, it's the first time in a long time that I've felt compelled to get involved in something on more than a superficial level and thanks to the meeting I now have some avenues to chase down. :)

Edit: The meeting was finished, I didn't walk out in the bad way. :P

I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work.

Ran across a pretty in-depth blog post of the meeting, touches on just about everything that was discussed that I can see.

Cheers for the links. If the thong is made in the US i dread to think where the boxers come from.
