What are the possible reason's for somebody keeping a crow and a magpie trapped in a small cage on display in their front garden? Is there any plausible explanation for doing this?

Keeping birds in cages is wrong. I prefer the Austrian method of keeping them in the basement

Meant as a trap.....a female magpie/crow/whatever you want to kill in one side of the box, a door kept open by a stick on top of the other side.....useful if you keep chickens, stops magpies cracking eggs, like they used to do with foil capped milk bottles back in the day.....

    ....don't do it myself!

It's a larsen trap, I'm willing to bet. One bird acts as a call bird, and is provided with food and water, while it attracts other corvids, which are then humanely dispatched. After some time, the call bird is then dispatched and the other bird becomes a call bird. Used for reducing corvid numbers.

One for sorrow, two for joy?
May not apply if both birds are not magpies..

what kind of kips are you people living in ffs

first, people shopping in pajamas and now crows in cages.

Just find a better area to live in, then post some decent threads

This is the craziest steroetype I ever stumbled upon. In Clarecastle no less. Which is apparently Magpie Central.

    One for sorrow,
    Two for joy,
    Three for a girl,
    Four for a boy,
    Five for silver,
    Six for gold,
And seven for a secret never to be told.
    Eight's a kiss,
    Nine's a wish,
Ten's a bird you should never miss.

And people think of these things as bad luck.... WELL, it would explain all the teenage pregnancies in the area, for a start, the chav bling, etc...

PETA are weird, but they do tend to be represented by attractive naked women, so while I can never support them, I can certainly get behind them.

PETA's current head idiot is a misogynistic wanker tbh.

Meh, they're tards. I think having king tard at the head of them is pretty appropriate.
