    Hi!

What's your favourite mid distance spin (approx 50km) starting from Dublin City Centre and back?

I'm trying to up my milage a bit, I really dont cycle enough. I suppose hills aren't really on my agenda, just nice flat smooth mileage really.

    Thanks!

Dublin City Centre- Dundrum - Enniskerry - Bray - Dun Laoghaire - Ranelagh.

    About 50km, nice spin.

Dublin City center, out the cost road to Howth (you can do the hill if you like) back into Portmarnock,Malahide Swords via the estuary road, back onto the Malahide road via the feltrim road and straight back into the city.

This should be around the 50km mark and a nice route mostly by the sea.

I did something similar to this on Saturday, first time out that direction and really enjoyed it.

Watch for the very sharp turn at the bridge after the right turn at the sally gap (at where it says kippure on the map) if it's your first time heading down that way.

I was going to start a similar thread but this is exactly what I was looking for. I'll definitely try those two above. If anyone else has any other routes ,starting in Dublin City, they'd recommend I'd really appreciate it.

Thats my favourite route :) Definitely recommend it!
Though for me its only 44km, including taking in Howth head.

So I've added in heading over from Malahide to Swords on the R106, then into Swords Village and left in the village back onto the R132(Swords Rd). That brought it up to 47.6km.

I'm going to add around the airport as well should bring it over 50km :)

Its its a super route,do you like to take in the hill of howth early on your run or near the end...?I try to mix it up,its much much tougher if you already have 30 odd K done.

That was AWESOME. Only saw a handful of cars for the hour or so leading up to and after the Sally Gap. Really beautiful, thanks!

You can use The Phoenix Park as a wormhole to get out to the countryside.
Go out the Farmleigh gate exit (pedestrians and bicycles only) then on to the Porterstown road.

See the map below for the exact route --- you get to the "triple point" border of the counties Dublin/Kildare/Meath.

Going as far as Kilcloon and back to the city centre is a full 50km, maybe 52 at most.

The good thing is it is generally quiet and little traffic.
