    Any advice on approaching a dealer for a straight swop . Have they any interest or is it a waste of time. Thanks

    Not a chance I would say as garages are in the business of making money.

    The only exception I can think of is that your car is rare where demand outstrips supply or the car you are thinking of swapping it for has moss growing around it because the dealer could not shift it.
