Ring of Kerry

Today, while driving the Ring of Kerry, travelling via Castlemaine, anticlockwise towards Killarney, I saw that many older cars, that I began to write them down, lest I forget. I know the Vintage and veteran people had an outing on the Ring today, but altogether I saw:

    A 1979 grey Rolls Royce
    A Pale grey DKW
Two Wolseys 16/60 or possibly Austin Cambridges, one Grey and one Maroon
    A Black Riley
    A Green Morris Minor
    A Wine Triumph Spitfire
    A 1969 Mercedes 280 SL in an odd Bronze/Red
    A Green Volkswagen Beetle
    A Silver Mercedes 280 or 250 SL
Three Triumph Heralds, all convertibles, two Red and one Yellow
    A 1989 Red mercedes 300 SL
A 1968/9 Citroen Safari, Dark Blue and a Grey roof.

And in case anyones interested, parked up under a thick layer of dust and grime a 1981 red Mercedes 230E in Sneem.

I couldnt take any pics as I was driving a coach load of French tourists at a time, but it was most enjoyable anyway. Anybody recognise any of the above?

Wasn't it the 50th anniversary of the Herald launch? It was launched in Kerry in '59.

The Minis were on the Mizen to Malin run organised by the Irish Mini Owners Club. Morris Cooper on the Forum was one of the organisers
