I'm going on a sun holiday soon for a week. Any advice on what clothes I should buy? It would be great if I could get some wear out of them over the summer at home as well.

Are you female? My one tip is to steamline your packing. I've got it down to a fine art at this stage. I basically pick one colourway and make sure everything goes with everything else. So only 2/3 pairs shorts and the same amount of tops that all go together. And i have to say when it comes to holidays i always buy cheap. So penney's or dunnes or else great sale bargains. I find stuff gets ruined with suncream and sand etc so no point buying expensive stuff.

for a week i usually bring

3 shorts/skirts (beige, denim, and one reversible pair so have 2 looks)

3 tops- always those kinda boob tube ones - black, red and white

One kaftan, 2 bikinis, one pair of black flip flops, one sparkley ff for evenings.

for evening i dress up my denim shorts and the jeans i wear travelling with a couple of nice tops and then bring a couple of light summery dresses.

all in all i only bring about 12 items of clothes with me for the week. It's too easy to spend a fortune, bring too much and not year half of it. I learnt over the years that i wear the same few things every holiday.

Depending on what you will mostly be doing on holidays...
I know when I go on a sun holiday I spend most of my time on the beach or by the pool so I would spend most of my time in a bikini! I'm desperate for bringing too much stuff on holidays but if I was to be practical about it then 3 or 4 bikinis are plenty! (If your planning on laying out in the sun a lot I would suggest getting strapless bikini tops, they save the hassle of constantly untying your bikini straps!)
For daytime wear, dresses are so handy, just slip them on over your bikini and your done!! Buy a few light summer dresses and it will save you money too, dresses are generally cheaper than buying seperates and it also saves you the hassle of trying to match things!! If you invest in a couple of good quality ones that you really like then you will more than likely get loads of use out of them here too!!!
For feet 1 pair of or sandals is probably enough!! If you get a pair that will go with everything you wont need more than 1! I love all the gold ones that are out at the moment and you would also get loads of wear out of them here too!!
You will probably need some type of beach bag for carrying towels and suncreams when heading to the beach or waterparks etc. I find small over the shoulder handbags are brilliant for going shopping or heading out a night for holding money etc.
Sunglasses are important, at the moment in boots if you spend over €7 or something you get a pair of sunglasses half price. They have some pretty decent sunglasses too with polarized lenses.
For evenings, again it depends on what you will generally be doing!! When I go away we go to pubs and clubs so I usually bring outfits I would wear at home!! A nice pair of wedge heels are good & comfy too!! You could always wear your daytime dresses with some accessories to dress them up!!
