Can you get an x-ray with braces?

I had to get an x-ray before I got my braces and I had to remove my ear studs. My orthodontist wants me to have another one in August, but won't the braces cause a problem? I haven't been told how long I have to wear them, I've had them since November and I can't see them taking much longer because my teeth are coming into line. My mam kind of put pressure on them to be done by July for my sister's wedding and that could be the reason, but I told my orthodontist I didn't care if I was wearing them to the wedding or not. Would my braces have to be off to do an x-ray?

no, he probably wants to check root position /resorption of teeth (routine check) or may want to compare the starting position of teeth to where they are now/see any changes in growth of your jaws.
