3W For Driving

    Advice please.

Having a huge fight with the driver at present..... and it's winning hands down!
Have been using 3 iron off the tee recently, but am not getting the distance to required to post a good score.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a resonably priced oversized/ large head 3 wood that's available at present.
(Friend of mine had a large headed Colt 3W which was great... a few years ago... and I think Wilson may make one.
Really happy with my irons (from 3i up)... striking really well, but need something to get me the 200+ out from the tee, that'll give me a shot at the green.

    Thanks

This may not help but I use a Nike Ignite T60 3 wood, I have the matching 5 wood aswell. My mate had them as well and before I got mine I borrowed his as much as I could, I got mine about 18 months ago even though the clubs were probably brought out 4-5 years ago.
They can still be got around the likes of eBay, it's a great club really long off the tee and good from off the deck aswell. .

    What's your handicap?

What is the loft of your driver? You might actually be better off with a lofted driver with a shorter shaft. Maybe the shaft of your driver is wrong for your swing speed.

Large headed 3 woods (I don't really like them).......Callaway Big Bertha, Ping Rapture, Benross (??).

Personally I find hitting large headed 3 woods from the fairway difficult and I prefer to use a 5 wood or rescue wood. maybe you should consider a rescue wood from the tee.

Alternatively I'd go to a fitting pro to see if they can get a suitable driver for you.

I use an MD Golf 15deg 460cc driver with 2" cut off the shaft as a "3 wood from the tee" club when driver is misbehaving. Great club. Search md golf on ebay.co.uk. good value sellers from N Irl.

Recently got a ping rapture v2 3 wood (16 degree) and am loving it - great distance and the extra degree makes it easy to get good ball flight

But again, may not work for you.

When the driver is not working I use the 3 wood off the tee.

Like what was said I prefer small headed 3 wood and rescue.

I tee the 3 wood very low (Literally off the deck).

I got the Titlesit 909H rescue and it is very forgiving club.

Hardly ever hit a bad shot with the rescue.

Which way are you hitting your bad drives?
