Yes... tbh i don't think there is any doubt that lost will have a lot of minor questons not answered and that will be left to us to theorize and discuss..

I really am going to miss lost.. i don't think there is any other show that will make me think more and look forward to every week. I really enjoy the storylines, locations and universe of the show.

It's great to get an answer but it's not essential. I think some questions that are asked honetly can't be answered.

I think lindelof put it perfectly in an interview(can't find it) where he says that people ask questions like what is the meaning of the numbers, how do they work... he then compared this to the force in star wars and says that no one asked what was the force or how it worked, they just went with it as part of the star wars universe...

So yes lost will leave a legacy, i wouldn't be surprised to hear that there will be comic books after. I don't think i'd be getting those!

The writers have denied a million times that the show will have anything resembling a Sopranos-type ending. All the important questions will be resolved.

But yeah Lindelof has said that he would prefer to answer these questions without getting into midichlorian territory. (George Lucas used "midichlorians" in the Star Wars prequels as a scientific explanation of the Force.)

From about 20 minutes into "A New Hope"[1977]

BEN: Well, the Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy
field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us.
    It binds the galaxy together.
