You wake up one morning and its like "Right, Looking for Job!" so you go to the place and its like "Oh you will have to fill out the online application..." wasted gas! Or Petroleum for the rest of you... Its all the same: Regular. 87 Octane. And I only get 15 mpg.

So you go to the website and think no problem. Then you go to the search, and find out there are 10 X locations in your area. And of each of those, theres an average of 5 positions in each to apply for. Great!

But theyve setup the system so that you have to apply for each one. Individually. And each application can take 45 minutes. Its enough in itself to make you think the employer is a senseless tool. To apply for say, 4 available positions at the closest store to me, takes 2 hours. Then to apply to the other store just 2-5 miles down the road, its another 2 hours. And so on.

Only one store I have tried applying to has got it right so far, and thats Publix. You apply in the store at their kiosk, which duplicates your application Nationwide, for all positions you checked off for. In 45 minutes I *technically* applied to 4,500 positions. As opposed to spending 8 hours and applying to 20 positions, in 4 stores out of 10.

Maybe this only applies to the US - look, thank your stars, that you can still just walk up to a human, and have them accept a copy of your CV, without being told to go through The Gauntlet. I printed out 10 CVs just to start out. 6 weeks later I have yet to find a human that will take one. Either fill out This Form or go to This Website.
