    Hi guys,

I want to be in Newry next Saturday morning for 08:45. Given that it's a bank holiday weekend, what time so I need to leave Dundrum (M50) at?

    Thanks in advance

its 55 minutes from m1/m50 intersection staying at 120 kph.that will have you in the carpark in sainsburys provided there is no queue..

Leave before 7am, dont bother with M50 and it's €6 go town->Whitehall->M1. Traffic will be crap around Jonesborough.

If you think that the traffic is going to bad at the Newry roundabout I'd take the Jonesborough turn off. This will bring you into Newry on the old road and at the front of the queue at the roundabout.:D At that time of the morning I don't think it'll be that bad.

I drove up to NI yesterday and I had no traffic probs at all around Newry when I passed by around 9.30am. But the weather was really bad yesterday morning, so I suppose people who had originally planned on going, didn't bother or went later.

From Swords to Drogheda: 20 Mins
From Drogheda to Newry: 40 - 50 mins (traffic depending)

    Therefore about: 1 hour/1 hour 10 mins

Note the viaduct seems to be still out of order

    Hi Guys

Im planning on going up on Wednesday morning, someone told me there was roadworks on the way into Newry, does anyone know if this is true?

Im not in too much of a hurry so dont mind too much but would prefer to know.

    Cheers Guys!

I left Monkstown at 1 on Saturday, got to border at 2 and then it took me 50 minutes to get through Newry!
so yeah the roadworks are causing a pain, basically the 2 lanes narrow into 1 so you've the usual shenanigans with people not merging properly and then having to drive very slowly as far as the first roundabout in Newry.
obviously it will depend on the time of day you're going, my mates who'd left a couple of hours earlier than me had no real problems and on my way back on the Sunday the traffic coming from the South was hardly backed up at all.

Weekdays are fine, but this week maybe a little heavier with schools off.

i am planning on heading up on thursday, does anybody know how much the bus from dublin to newry is? and how do i get from the war memorial to the outlet?

The Outlet? That's nearer Lisburn than Newry, it's in Banbridge so you probably need to check buses that go there.

I went to Newry today. Bought the ticket at Connolly, €29 return. Journey time is just over an hour and half. A free shuttle bus meets the trains to take passengers into Newry centre. Shuttle bus takes 5-6 minutes. Shuttle bus drops you in Newry bus station, which is in the centre of town and you can walk everywhere from there. The free shuttle bus also brings you back to the train station. Best check exact times of the bus in Newry station.
