Hi, was wondering does anyone out there know wher I could get a rocker cover chromed, and roughly how much would it cost? Thanks

It might be cheaper to buy one new from a specialist supplier for your car. You could always drop along to Kilbeggan tomorrow and ask the American car owners - they like their chrome....

What kind of car is it?

I'd be concerned that it'd discolour over time, especially if underbonnet temperatures are high - I think that alloy ones are more popular for that reason (on older classics anyway).

Edit - looks like its a Golf - there are a good few UK specialists that will definitely be able to help you out.

does it have the 3-bolt or 8-bolt rocker cover?

If it uses the 3-bolt style, you can fit the cover from a mid-90s Polo, they're aluminium and could be polished up a treat and unlike a chromer, you'll probably find a polisher locally. If you need, I know a guy in Dublin who specialises in metal polishing.

    it would look like this:

if 8-bolt then they're steel and you're back to square one :(
