    Hi Folks,

My son's 40gb PS3 has stopped loading games and DVDs, I've done a file format and I am currently reformatting the HD.
Called Sony and they want €160's as it's 14months old, any other ideas before I boost their profit margins?

Do a search on this forum for "blu-ray of death"
You should find a poll, and a litany of cases of this happening, as well as phone numbers, sale of goods act etc.I certainly wouldn't acceot it from Sony that its out of warranty after only 14 months. They replaced mine even though it was 14 months old when it happened.

Tell Sony to fix it. They are required, by EU law, to give 2 years cover. Well, I may be mis-interpreting it. The two years may relate to your contract with the retailer you purchased it off. Either way, spend an hour researching the law and get back to getting your FAULTY unit repaired.
