So this evening i was on the way home, cat ran infront of me, slammed on breaks, car slid and left front tire hit a curb.
The rim is damaged, and the tire is about 1CM away from the mudflap now. and to drive straight i have to hold the steering wheel at a sideways angle.
    Car: VW POLO Saloon, 99

Please tell me this is not going to be an expensive repair and can be done in under a day, otherwise. im screwed.

is it an allow no? Just swap it with the spare and get a new one.

its not but the whole tire etc has moved towards the mudflap, so i think something behind it got damaged. i really cant afford a big bill right now. i had to buy a new laptop last week after mine gave up the ghost. and i NEED my car tomorrow night :/

Sounds like suspension damage. Has the wheel itself been pushed back within the wheelarch?

If so it's possibly dangerous to drive, and is not a simple fix either.

If you turn the wheels to one side and look under it you'll see something like in the attached scribble.

The bits with red arrows ( or whatever is similar in your case ) are probably damaged at the very least :(

Add in a few steering parts too maybe ,and obviosly enough new wheel and tyre as Seany said
