Low Maintenance Hair?

I'm fed up with my hair! I do a lot of sports and currently my hair goes way down my back, has blond highlights and is very flyaway. I can't be bothered with the hassle anymore especially as I go swimming at least twice a week and it takes an hour to wash, dry and brush it when i'm done  I don't suit fringes or short hair from past experience. The colour is going to go darker anyway for a start but I'm not sure what kind of a cut to go for. I was thinking of having about 4 inches off it so not too short and maybe have layers cut into it. Would this be easier managed? Anyone have any different ideas?

My hair was similar, pretty long down to my elbows and I had it blonde. Only took 15 mins to wash and another 10/15 to blow dry. I got it cut to just below my shoulder a few weeks ago. Takes a few minutes to wash and about 5 mins to blow dry but also dries pretty quickly itself. I had a load of layers cut into it. I can't do as much with my hair as I could when it was longer i.e. I can't tie it into a bun anymore- it barely fits into a ponytail without having to put grips in. But defo a little easier to manager.

A long graduated bob is lovely and very easy to manage.... If u asked for it for below shoulder length.. It looks kewl without being fussy or dull...
